. . . we meet the Golden Triangle children’s writer set to top the Christmas Bestseller list
Local author Sally Hodgson‘s latest project is aimed at encouraging our youngest children to confront their fears about Britain’s forthcoming departure from the EU.
Goodbye Günther, Ciao Càtterinà is a beautifully illustrated and sensitive allegorical tale aimed at
the myriad of pre-school children who are anxious about BREXIT.
The story unfolds through the eyes of two children who have an unfortunate encounter with a beguiling charlatan deep in the ‘Forest of Strasbourg’.
“Almost all of the under 5’s I meet in the Golden Triangle have a host of unanswered questions about the Withdrawal Agreement”.
Sally told us
“So I wanted to find a way of explaining Britain’s departure from the EU in a calm and measured way”
Yet Sally’s book pulls no punches.
“There’s no space for euphemisms like ‘a fresh-start’ or ‘taking back control’. A four year old isn’t stupid. They need to know . . . .”
The charming tale maps the struggle faced by the children to remain in the forest, and concludes with Günther’s indefinite detention in an immigration centre and Càtterinà’s forced sterilisation.
